BRU History - February 1867 BRU JEUNE et Cie is founded in Paris at 226 rue Saint Denis by Leon Casimir BRU.
- 1867-1877 Era of primary production of Poupees.
- July 1867 Patent filed for crying doll.
- December 1867 Patent filed for "surprise doll" with lauging/crying faces.
- October 1868 3 models deposed: rubber head, wooden body, awake/asleep double-faced head.
- August 1873 Smiling face poupee model is deposed.
- February 1877 BRU JEUNE &Cie is disolved, becoming BRU JEUNE.
- 1878 Silver medal won for poupee at Paris Universal Exposition.
- 1878 Bru's first mention of bebes.
- 1878-1889 Era of the Kid bodied bebe.
- March 1879 Patent filed for Kid bodied BEBE BREVETE.
- 1879 First model BEBE face introduced.
- 1879 BEBE MODEL with wooden articulated body introduced.
- 1879 New face marked Circle/dot symbol introduced.
- October 1879 Patent filed for Bebe teteur.
- 1879-1883 Double faced bebe introduced.
- 1880 Bebe Gourmand introduced.
- 1880 Exotic bebe first offered.
- 1880 Kid body changed, kid over metal upper arms.
- 1883-1883 Third bebe facial model, marked BRU JNE.
- 1883 BEBE MODELE discontinued.
- November 1883 BRU JEUNE was sold to Henri CHEVROT.
- 1883-1889 The Chevrot body was used only during these years.
- November 1883 Chevrot sold BRU JEUNE to Paul Eugene GIRARD.
- 1890 Composition articulated body is introduced, the first example have bisque forearms and hands; Kid body era is ended.
- 1891 Bru Jne R mark is introduced.
- September 1891 Patent filed for Bebe Petit Pas.
- March 1892 Patend filed for Bebe Automate Respirant.
- March 1897 Patent filed for bebe Mecanique.
- March 1899 Bru Jeune was sold to SFBJ wich continued the Bru trademarks until 1938.
