This variant of the BEBE JUMEAU signed "E.J" was made in the latest period of EJ Bebe; It was engraved "Depose E11J" and was produced only about 1 year and an half, between 1885 and 1886.The head is always of pressed bisque and the eye sockets are large. The ears are separately modeled and applied. The eyes are of the "human" (paperweight) type made by GuepratteJumeau. The wig is made of fine quality mohair. The body is made with integrated articulation balls and un-jointed wrists.
During this EJ Bebe period, the standards of productions of the Jumeau manufacture were characterized by a very high quality; this doll was the last model produced with the technique of pressed bisque, together with the Carrier-belleuse, until 1886....
